A news article on Bloomberg reports that Moderna Inc of the US and Lonza Group AG of Switzerland have signed a deal for making a billion COVID-19 vaccines a year.

Moderna Inc., one of the leaders among U.S. companies developing experimental vaccines against the coronavirus, entered a pact with Lonza Group AG aimed at manufacturing 1 billion doses a year.

Our view is that, all the lockdowns, isolation, and physical distancing measures are aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19. However, the real positive impact on humankind will be the discovery of an effective vaccine.
